The mission of Cure Kids Cancer is to help children's cancer centers, like the one at Sanford Children's Hospital, find life-saving treatments and eventually cures for children's cancer by raising funds and awareness.

Sadly, more than 11,000 children will be diagnosed with various forms of cancer this year; and instead of chasing butterflies, these children will be learning about the serious experiences of surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and hospital or clinic visits. Cancer is a devastating disease - especially in children - it changes dramatically the lives of entire families and often affects them for many years.

Despite the remarkable advances in treatment, cancer is the leading cause of death in children under age fifteen, second only to accidents. World-class physicians and researchers in children's hospitals lead the effort to help children with cancer by providing the most sophisticated treatments available and conducting research that has resulted in advanced treatments and cures for some childhood cancer.

Cure Kids Cancer works with television and radio stations, and corporate partners to raise funds and public awareness for local pediatric cancer centers, like the one found at Sanford Children's Hospital, in order to help keep kids with cancer as close to home as possible.

Locally, Sanford Children's Hospital is the region's only Cure Kids Cancer hospital.  We're fighting cancer so kids don't have to!
